Caroline

Did you watch the "Queen of Comedy"?

Christmas always has me feeling nostalgic and a tad emotional; and Christmas 2023 was no different, particularly when it came to watching the film tribute https://www.bbc.co.uk/.../caroline-aherne-queen-of-comedy

The content offered me personally, a well-timed walk down memory lane and reminded me just why I love British Comedy and the 90s so much!

Remembering “The Fast Show” took me back to my 19 year-old self, laughing out loud watching the show with friends, drinking endless brews after a heavy night on the town, those indeed were the days!

I recalled sitting in awe, cringing for the guests on “The Mrs. Merton Show”, wondering just what this mischievous marvel in knitwear could and hopefully would ask them next!

Then there’s “The Royle Family” one of a handful of shows I always depend on to make me smile (and cry), whether I’m feeling rock bottom or on top of the world.

The Royle family is so utterly relatable, I like to imagine being perched on the end of the Royle’s sofa, waiting to be offered the biscuit tin (Orange Club for me please Barbara).

How amazing to think that the characters Caroline Aherne created and brought to life have become such a treasured part of so many people’s lives.

A fitting tribute to a star who shone so bright.
